Merge resolution notes:
- Dropped the changes that added an LTS-specific backport of the
blake2s library, since this branch already has a newer version of
the blake2s library.
- Added CHACHA20_KEY_SIZE and CHACHA20_BLOCK_SIZE constants to
chacha.h, to minimize changes from the 4.19 LTS version of random.c
- Retain a fix to the rng-seed support in drivers/of/fdt.c that this
branch and 4.19.250 have, but 4.19.249 doesn't have.

faddr2line: Fix overlapping text section failures, the sequel

If a function lives in a section other than .text, but .text also exists
in the object, faddr2line may wrongly assume .text. This can result in
comically wrong output. For example:

Fix it by passing the section name to addr2line, unless the object file
is vmlinux, in which case the symbol table uses absolute addresses.

modpost: fix undefined behavior of is_arm_mapping_symbol()

The return value of is_arm_mapping_symbol() is unpredictable when "$"
is passed in.
strchr(3) says:
The strchr() and strrchr() functions return a pointer to the matched
character or NULL if the character is not found. The terminating null
byte is considered part of the string, so that if c is specified as
'\0', these functions return a pointer to the terminator.
When str[1] is '\0', strchr("axtd", str[1]) is not NULL, and str[2] is
referenced (i.e. buffer overrun).

modpost: fix removing numeric suffixes

With the `-z unique-symbol` linker flag or any similar mechanism,
it is possible to trigger the following:
ERROR: modpost: "param_set_uint.0" [vmlinux] is a static EXPORT_SYMBOL
The reason is that for now the condition from remove_dot():
if (m && (s[n + m] == '.' || s[n + m] == 0))
which was designed to test if it's a dot or a '\0' after the suffix
is never satisfied.
This is due to that `s[n + m]` always points to the last digit of a
numeric suffix, not on the symbol next to it (from a custom debug
print added to modpost):
param_set_uint.0, s[n + m] is '0', s[n + m + 1] is '\0'
So it's off-by-one and was like that since 2014.
Fix this for the sake of any potential upcoming features, but don't
bother stable-backporting, as it's well hidden -- apart from that
LD flag, it can be triggered only with GCC LTO which never landed
upstream.

The problem is that faddr2line is based on 'nm', which has a major
limitation: it doesn't know how to distinguish between different text
sections. So if an offset exists in multiple text sections in the
object, it may fail.
Rewrite faddr2line to be section-aware, by basing it on readelf.

gcc-plugins: latent_entropy: use /dev/urandom
commit c40160f2998c897231f8454bf797558d30a20375 upstream.
While the latent entropy plugin mostly doesn't derive entropy from
get_random_const() for measuring the call graph, when __latent_entropy is
applied to a constant, then it's initialized statically to output from
get_random_const(). In that case, this data is derived from a 64-bit
seed, which means a buffer of 512 bits doesn't really have that amount
of compile-time entropy.
This patch fixes that shortcoming by just buffering chunks of
/dev/urandom output and doling it out as requested.
At the same time, it's important that we don't break the use of
-frandom-seed, for people who want the runtime benefits of the latent
entropy plugin, while still having compile-time determinism. In that
case, we detect whether gcc's set_random_seed() has been called by
making a call to get_random_seed(noinit=true) in the plugin init
function, which is called after set_random_seed() is called but before
anything that calls get_random_seed(noinit=false), and seeing if it's
zero or not. If it's not zero, we're in deterministic mode, and so we
just generate numbers with a basic xorshift prng.
Note that we don't detect if -frandom-seed is being used using the
documented local_tick variable, because it's assigned via:
local_tick = (unsigned) tv.tv_sec * 1000 + tv.tv_usec / 1000;
which may well overflow and become -1 on its own, and so isn't
reliable: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=105171

kconfig: let 'shell' return enough output for deep path names

The 'shell' built-in only returns the first 256 bytes of the command's
output. In some cases, 'shell' is used to return a path; by bumping up
the buffer size to 4096 this lets us capture up to PATH_MAX.
The specific case where I ran into this was due to commit 1e860048c53e
("gcc-plugins: simplify GCC plugin-dev capability test"). After this
change, we now use `$(shell,$(CC) -print-file-name=plugin)` to return
a path; if the gcc path is particularly long, then the path ends up
truncated at the 256 byte mark, which makes the HAVE_GCC_PLUGINS
depends test always fail.

Makefile.extrawarn: Move -Wunaligned-access to W=1

-Wunaligned-access is a new warning in clang that is default enabled for
arm and arm64 under certain circumstances within the clang frontend (see
LLVM commit below). On v5.17-rc2, an ARCH=arm allmodconfig build shows
1284 total/70 unique instances of this warning (most of the instances
are in header files), which is quite noisy.
To keep a normal build green through CONFIG_WERROR, only show this
warning with W=1, which will allow automated build systems to catch new
instances of the warning so that the total number can be driven down to
zero eventually since catching unaligned accesses at compile time would
be generally useful.

scripts/dtc: dtx_diff: remove broken example from help text

dtx_diff suggests to use <(...) syntax to pipe two inputs into it, but
this has never worked: The /proc/self/fds/... paths passed by the shell
will fail the `[ -f "${dtx}" ] && [ -r "${dtx}" ]` check in compile_to_dts,
but even with this check removed, the function cannot work: hexdump will
eat up the DTB magic, making the subsequent dtc call fail, as a pipe
cannot be rewound.
Simply remove this broken example, as there is already an alternative one
that works fine.

recordmcount.pl: fix typo in s390 mcount regex
commit 4eb1782eaa9fa1c224ad1fa0d13a9f09c3ab2d80 upstream.
Commit 85bf17b28f97 ("recordmcount.pl: look for jgnop instruction as well
as bcrl on s390") added a new alternative mnemonic for the existing brcl
instruction. This is required for the combination old gcc version (pre 9.0)
and binutils since version 2.37.
However at the same time this commit introduced a typo, replacing brcl with
bcrl. As a result no mcount locations are detected anymore with old gcc
versions (pre 9.0) and binutils before version 2.37.
Fix this by using the correct mnemonic again.

recordmcount.pl: look for jgnop instruction as well as bcrl on s390
commit 85bf17b28f97ca2749968d8786dc423db320d9c2 upstream. On s390, recordmcount.pl is looking for "bcrl 0,<xxx>" instructions in the objdump -d outpout. However since binutils 2.37, objdump -d display "jgnop <xxx>" for the same instruction. Update the mcount_regex so that it accepts both. leaking_addresses: Always print a trailing newline
[ Upstream commit cf2a85efdade117e2169d6e26641016cbbf03ef0 ] For files that lack trailing newlines and match a leaking address (e.g. wchan[1]), the leaking_addresses.pl report would run together with the next line, making things look corrupted. Unconditionally remove the newline on input, and write it back out on output. ANDROID: setlocalversion: make KMI_GENERATION optional
GKI required the KMI_GENERATION to be added to the kernel version string, but this only makes sense for GKI kernels, for non-GKI kernels we don't need it. nds32/ftrace: Fix Error: invalid operands (*UND* and *UND* sections) for `^'

I received a build failure for a new patch I'm working on the nds32
architecture, and when I went to test it, I couldn't get to my build error,
because it failed to build with a bunch of:
Error: invalid operands (*UND* and *UND* sections) for `^'
issues with various files. Those files were temporary asm files that looked
like: kernel/.tmp_mc_fork.s
I decided to look deeper, and found that the "mc" portion of that name
stood for "mcount", and was created by the recordmcount.pl script. One that
I wrote over a decade ago. Once I knew the source of the problem, I was
able to investigate it further.
The way the recordmcount.pl script works (BTW, there's a C version that
simply modifies the ELF object) is by doing an "objdump" on the object
file. Looks for all the calls to "mcount", and creates an offset of those
locations from some global variable it can use (usually a global function
name, found with <.*>:). Creates a asm file that is a table of references
to these locations, using the found variable/function. Compiles it and
links it back into the original object file. This asm file is called
".tmp_mc_<object_base_name>.s".
The problem here is that the objdump produced by the nds32 object file,
contains things that look like:

Where ".L3^B1 is somehow selected as the "global" variable to index off of.
Then the assembly file that holds the mcount locations looks like this:

the compile fails on the "^" symbol.
Simple solution for now, is to have the perl script ignore using function
symbols that have an "^" in the name.

kbuild: mkcompile_h: consider timestamp if KBUILD_BUILD_TIMESTAMP is set
[ Upstream commit a979522a1a88556e42a22ce61bccc58e304cb361 ] To avoid unnecessary recompilations, mkcompile_h does not regenerate compile.h if just the timestamp changed. Though, if KBUILD_BUILD_TIMESTAMP is set, an explicit timestamp for the build was requested, in which case we should not ignore it. If a user follows the documentation for reproducible builds [1] and defines KBUILD_BUILD_TIMESTAMP as the git commit timestamp, a clean build will have the correct timestamp. A subsequent cherry-pick (or amend) changes the commit timestamp and if an incremental build is done with a different KBUILD_BUILD_TIMESTAMP now, that new value is not taken into consideration. But it should for reproducibility. Hence, whenever KBUILD_BUILD_TIMESTAMP is explicitly set, do not ignore UTS_VERSION when making a decision about whether the regenerated version of compile.h should be moved into place. ANDROID: generate_initcall_order.pl: Use two dash long options for llvm-nm
Commit 96e9bc424475 ("[llvm-nm] Remove one-dash long options except
-arch") in LLVM removed the one dash long options, which causes this
script to fail and initcalls not to get ordered properly, which
manifests as kernels crashing durin boot.
Use the two dash long options as the LLVM commit mentions that the
documentation and help text have always shown them over the one dash
long versions. This is not an issue with the mainline LTO series as it
used two dash long options.

ANDROID: Add CONFIG_LLD_VERSION
CONFIG_LLD_VERSION was originally added in commit d5750cd3c548 ("kbuild:
Disable CONFIG_LD_ORPHAN_WARN for ld.lld 10.0.1"), which is not
applicable to 4.19. Additionally, lld-version.sh was eliminated and
combined into ld-version.sh in commit 02aff8592204 ("kbuild: check the
minimum linker version in Kconfig") and there was a follow up fix in
commit 1f09af062556 ("kbuild: Fix ld-version.sh script if LLD was built
with LLD_VENDOR"), which is a little large to take into
android-4.19-stable for the sake of fixing an LTO issue.
Add scripts/lld-version.sh but based on the upstream version of
ld-version.sh so that we benefit from the fixes but do not have to
backport a ton of patches just to get access to CONFIG_LLD_VERSION.

kconfig: nconf: stop endless search loops
[ Upstream commit 8c94b430b9f6213dec84e309bb480a71778c4213 ] If the user selects the very first entry in a page and performs a search-up operation, or selects the very last entry in a page and performs a search-down operation that will not succeed (e.g., via [/]asdfzzz[Up Arrow]), nconf will never terminate searching the page. The reason is that in this case, the starting point will be set to -1 or n, which is then translated into (n - 1) (i.e., the last entry of the page) or 0 (i.e., the first entry of the page) and finally the search begins. This continues to work fine until the index reaches 0 or (n - 1), at which point it will be decremented to -1 or incremented to n, but not checked against the starting point right away. Instead, it's wrapped around to the bottom or top again, after which the starting point check occurs... and naturally fails. My original implementation added another check for -1 before wrapping the running index variable around, but Masahiro Yamada pointed out that the actual issue is that the comparison point (starting point) exceeds bounds (i.e., the [0,n-1] interval) in the first place and that, instead, the starting point should be fixed. This has the welcome side-effect of also fixing the case where the starting point was n while searching down, which also lead to an infinite loop. OTOH, this code is now essentially all his work. Amazingly, nobody seems to have been hit by this for 11 years - or at the very least nobody bothered to debug and fix this. vmlinux.lds.h: Create section for protection against instrumentation

Some code pathes, especially the low level entry code, must be protected against instrumentation for various reasons: - Low level entry code can be a fragile beast, especially on x86. - With NO_HZ_FULL RCU state needs to be established before using it. Having a dedicated section for such code allows to validate with tooling that no unsafe functions are invoked. Add the .noinstr.text section and the noinstr attribute to mark functions. noinstr implies notrace. Kprobes will gain a section check later. Provide also a set of markers: instrumentation_begin()/end() These are used to mark code inside a noinstr function which calls into regular instrumentable text section as safe. The instrumentation markers are only active when CONFIG_DEBUG_ENTRY is enabled as the end marker emits a NOP to prevent the compiler from merging the annotation points. This means the objtool verification requires a kernel compiled with this option. When building with -ffunction-sections, the compiler will place each
function into its own ELF section, prefixed with ".text". For example,
a simple test module with functions test_module_do_work() and
test_module_wq_func():

Adjust the recordmcount scripts to look for ".text" as a section name
prefix. This will ensure that those functions will be included in the

depmod: handle the case of /sbin/depmod without /sbin in PATH

Commit 436e980e2ed5 ("kbuild: don't hardcode depmod path") stopped
hard-coding the path of depmod, but in the process caused trouble for
distributions that had that /sbin location, but didn't have it in the
PATH (generally because /sbin is limited to the super-user path).
Work around it for now by just adding /sbin to the end of PATH in the
depmod.sh script.

kconfig: fix return value of do_error_if()

$(error-if,...) is expanded to an empty string. Currently, it relies on
eval_clause() returning xstrdup("") when all attempts for expansion fail,
but the correct implementation is to make do_error_if() return xstrdup("").
