# Introduction
OpenBK7231T/OpenBeken is a replacement firmware for Smart Home and IoT devices manufactured using Tuya's new modules based on chips than Espressif's ESPxxxx. We strive to be the best alternative to [Tasmota](https://tasmota.github.io/docs/) or [ESPHome](https://esphome.io/), which do not support these new platforms at the moment.
Some of the totem pole features are MQTT support, [Home Assistant][hass] compatibility, and support for [Tasmota templates](https://tasmota.github.io/docs/Templates/).
